YOUR JOURNEY ALONG THE DOURO RIVER
Rambling vineyards and charming native farms cling to the steep sides of the Douro River Valley, creating an incomparable backdrop to Port country – the world’s oldest demarcated wine region. You’ll sample Espumante, a Portuguese sparkling wine, and visit a local quinta (wine estate) for an authentic Port wine tasting. Discover the stages of wine production at the Quinta da Avessada, which houses an interactive museum commemorating the history and culture of wine. WINE HOSTS BIO
Brett and Rae Priestley are the owners of 3 P’s in a Vine Winery and Vineyard. This small east Texas winery in Athens, Texas, has become a destination winery stop for day trippers out of Dallas, Houston, Austin, and Shreveport. The Priestley’s have made their winery a big success through great customer service and very fine elegant wines. We focus on 15 different varieties of wines to concentrate on quality. 3 P’s in a Vine was opened in June of 2015 and only started with close to 100 grapevines. Now the small vineyard has grown to 2 – 3 acres. We grow Blanc du Bois, Camminare Noir, and Ambulo Blanc grapes in our vineyard, which make very nice stand-alone wine or blends.
Our moto at 3 P’s is “You come to our winery as a customer but leave as a friend!”
